US suppressing satellite images which implicate Kiev in MH17 crash: Petras
The
US may be suppressing satellite images which implicate the Kiev regime
in last month’s downing of a Malaysian airliner over eastern Ukraine,
according to an American political commentator.
Professor James Petras, who has written several books on the Latin
America and Middle East, made the remarks in a phone interview with
Press TV on Saturday, commenting on a statement by former US Republican
presidential candidate Ron Paul in which he says Washington is “hiding”
the truth about the downing of the Malaysia Airlines MH17.On July 17, the Boeing 777-200 passenger plane crashed in Ukraine’s conflict zone, killing all 298 people aboard. According to US intelligence and military officials, the plane was hit by a Russian SA-series missile launched from eastern Ukraine.
“... US satellite photographs, which are very extensive, very thorough, probably have images that go contrary to its public policies and with its support for the regime in Kiev. The implications are the US doesn’t want the images to become public because they would discredit anti-Russian campaign that’s going on; it would discredit the government in Kiev, and would perhaps arouse the United Nations to call for a full investigation and demand the US turn over these satellite images,” Petras said.
“Furthermore, I think, the US is well-informed on the issue of the shrapnel that has been discovered in the cabin of the downed plane which suggests that a fighter plane or fighter planes were involved in downing the airliner. That would again point [the] finger to the Kiev regime,” he stated.
“So I think the denial of US imagery is a crucial factor in unraveling this controversy,” Petras noted.
In an article published by Voices of Liberty on Thursday, Ron Paul wrote, "The US government has grown strangely quiet on the accusation that it was Russia or her allies that brought down the Malaysian airliner with a buck anti-aircraft missile."
"It’s hard to believe that the US, with all of its spy satellites available for monitoring everything in Ukraine, that precise proof of who did what and when is not available," the former congressman said. “When evidence contradicts our government’s accusations, the evidence is never revealed to the public.”
Professor Petras said, “Ron Paul is in Washington and he’s an elected official. He has access to informants in Washington, including intelligence people that may disagree with [official] policy and find him a useful outlet to get their views expressed. I think he is usually well-informed. He has access to intelligence information. And, I think his making an issue of this is coherent with his general opposition to US militarism and intervention in conflicts overseas.”
Footage of executed US journalist James Foley shown on giant TV in downtown Beijing on repeat loop

In a strikingly different approach to the threat of jihad terror, the
Chinese government wants it people to understand the horror and
savagery of the jihadists that threaten that country.
China has suffered some of the worst Islamic terror attacks in recent months. Mass machete attacks, bombings in Tiananmen Square, etc. The Chinese government knows what they are up against and this crude exercise is their way of the educating their people to this grave threat (the actual beheading does not appear to be shown).
On the one hand, the President of the United States is so nonplussed by the unspeakably gruesome beheading of American journalist James Foley, that he merely takes a break from his golf game (he probably wanted a mulligan anyway) and tosses off some empty rhetoric about being heartbroken and such and then returns to his basketball buds on the green.
China, on the other hand, is running edits from the Foley beheading in the public square on an endless loop. Gruesome? Absolutely. Effective? Most definitely. It may be crude, but it sends a message. Obama, on the other hand, rushes to protect Islam in the wake of jihadi attacks. China is arming its people. Obama is disarming us.
Is the American flag flying at the end of the video a shot at America? Most certainly. But look, we elected that evil clown twice, we have to take the punishment we so richly deserve.

“Graphic footage of executed US journalist shown on giant TV screen in heart of Beijing,” That’s Images.com, August 22, 2014 (thanks to Christian)
Thursday evening in Beijing’s downtown area – in the heart of Dongzhimen, and above one of the capital’s busiest transport hubs – a giant cinema-sized TV screen beams out looped images of racially charged riots in Ferguson, Missouri and Islamic extremists preparing to execute US journalist James Foley.
The footage of Foley comes in spite of concerted efforts throughout western media, and especially on Twitter, to censor images of the execution. Many media outlets have been moved to depict the courageous journalist as he was in life, not death: a dedicated and respected war reporter.
