During a recent WND interview, former House Majority Leader Tom Delay offered a scathing indictment of Barack Obama regarding his priorities in the fight against radical Islamic terrorists.
“Barack Obama was raised a Muslim,” he said, “and he claims he is a Christian. And I can’t say for sure whether he’s a Christian or not; but he has shown over the last few years that he has great sympathies with Islam.”
Delay’s concerns are nothing new among Obama’s detractors; however, he offered an especially candid rebuke for such a high-profile political figure.

“In defending America against radical Islamic terrorism,” he asserted, “Barack Obama cannot be trusted.”
He affirmed that Obama “hates war [and] hates the military,” suggesting that all of these factors combine to create “a formula for military inaction when it comes to combating radical Islamic terrorists like we are seeing in ISIS.”
Beyond his perceived sympathies toward the Muslim faith, Delay noted that Obama is generally unqualified for the position of commander-in-chief.
“You add to [the] mix that Barack Obama is incompetent,” he continued, “way over his head as president, and the whole combination produces a worldview that makes Obama detached and reluctant to take the type of military action against ISIS that would be effective.”
Delay called on legislators to deliver a clear message to Obama that firm and immediate action against the growing terrorist threat is needed.
While Congress cannot force Obama’s hand, he noted, “a properly drafted congressional resolution passed with bipartisan support could communicate to the president the will of the people is that he must take effective action and he must take it now.”
What meager rhetorical opposition the administration offers is met with little to no actual deed, he said.
“It’s like the pre-9/11 environment,” Delay suggested. “For all I know there are radical Islamic terrorists taking flying lessons again in the United States and all the Obama administration would look the other way – just like the Obama administration does on stopping illegal immigration.”
